The job
The main responsibility of the Field Clinical Evidence Scientist will be to contribute to the Oticon Medical cochlear implants group in its constant development of clinical research activities with external partners. 

 

The Field Clinical Evidence Scientist will be based in Paris, France, at the Centre de Recherche en Audiologie, based at the Pitié Salpêtrière Hospital (APHP/Sorbonne Université and the innovative Institut de l’Audition - Institut Pasteur), under the local supervision of Dr. Isabelle Mosnier. 

 

The Field Clinical Evidence Scientist gathers, analyzes, and disseminates scientific knowledge and results from clinical research on cochlear implant performed at the local clinic, to the company and into the market, communicating to colleagues, scientists, clinicians, and end-users. 

 

As an important link between the Head quarter Clinical Evidence department, the local clinical partnerships, and the rest of the organization, especially marketing and sales activities, this individual understands the current trends in the scientific and clinical fields of cochlear implants and hearing healthcare and can translate current knowledge and understanding, into valuable communication tools to inform professionals and end-users about the scientific activities of the company.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities are:
•    Coordinate onsite organization of research collaborations and take part to the local scientific activities and setup of clinical investigations sponsored by Oticon Medical or of investigator-initiated studies involving Oticon Medical Cochlear Implant users
•    Coordinate onsite execution of clinical investigations sponsored by Oticon Medical including study design and data collection (case report forms etc.)
•    Participate to the redaction of sponsor-initiated or investigator-initiated clinical protocols, in collaboration with local partners and Oticon Medical colleagues 
•    Perform statistical analyses and redaction of statistical reports of local clinical investigations sponsored by Oticon Medical or local investigator-initiated studies
•    Identify and communicate key clinical and research issues from local leaders to appropriate internal partners to shape research, development, and commercial strategies.
•    Provide input to Clinical evidence roadmap 
•    Maintain a scientific watch over the field of cochlear implants and associated technologies.
•    Review specific scientific literature relating to research and products and monitor the scientific professional literature within or relating to cochlear implants.
•    Analyze and communicate research findings to hearing care professionals through peer reviewed publications, industry journals and Oticon Medical research papers (White Papers) 
•    Write White-, Industry & peer review papers on evidence and audiology concepts and technology
•    Search, appraise and synthesize specific scientific literature to generate Literature Search Reports.

 

Personal Qualifications
We expect you to have a related education (PhD), within cognitive hearing sciences, audiology, psychoacoustics, neuroscience, or another relevant scientific discipline. Clinical knowledge of cochlear implant therapeutic area would be a plus. As an experienced scientist, you have expertise within all parts of the scientific and clinical work, and you are used to communicating scientific results.  We expect you to have strong statistical skills. A history of scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals or professional journals would be an advantage as well as programing skills (e.g., Python). Previous experience with eye-tracking and/or electroencephalography would be appreciated.

 

To be successful in this job, it is important that you have excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Further, you are quick at adapting to new tasks and you have a systematic and structured approach to your work. You are dynamic, result-oriented with some leadership skills.

 

You are fluent in French and English as these are the main languages in our company and area of activity, written and spoken.
