Ponto Trial Companion App

Rate your listening environments, learn about Ponto, and find answers to basic questions right from your handheld device.

Getting accustomed to wearing and hearing through a bone anchored hearing system takes time. To become familiar with and get the most out of your new device, we offer the Ponto Trial Companion app.

Ponto Trial Companion guides you through different situations in your daily life and lets you rate and comment on them. Once you’ve completed your ratings, you can easily share them with your audiologist and discuss them during your next meeting.

In addition to the ratings feature, the app also includes useful information about bone anchored hearing, Ponto sound processors, and testimonials from other users.

With the Ponto Trial Companion app, you have an easy way of evaluating whether bone anchored hearing and Ponto are right for you.

Make the most out of your Ponto trial

Ponto Trial Companion helps you get to know your Ponto bone anchored hearing system (BAHS) and evaluate its performance.

Features include:

  • Rate and comment on how well you hear in different listening situations
  • Review the ratings and comment at any point
  • Share these ratings with your audiologist
  • View useful information about bone anchored hearing
  • Read/view Ponto user stories
  • Get fast answers via Ponto user manual and FAQs

If you are struggling to hear in noisy environments or while outdoors, using the app to report these issues will help your audiologist better understand your hearing needs and make any adjustments to your BAHS based on your feedback during your next in-office visit. Simply rate different listening environments in which you find yourself as to how well you can hear.

  • 310x310-step1

    Step 1 - Rate & comment

It only takes a few minutes to rate and comment on different listening environments. The app lets you evaluate the following standard situations: conversation in quiet, conversation in noise, and sounds outdoors.

You can rate each listening environment up to five times. Each rating includes a field in which you can provide additional comments to clarify your entry. At any time during your trial, you can review the ratings and the comments – as well as the time and date you made them.

  • 310x310-step2

    Step 2 - Add situation

It also allows you to add and rate additional situations that might apply to your life, including:

    • Classroom
    • Office meeting
    • In the car
    • TV
    • Playground
    • Sport

  • 310x310-step3

Step 3 - Send my ratings

Once you have provided at least seven ratings in total, you can email this data to your audiologist before your next appointment. During the visit, your audiologist can then use this information to adjust your Ponto for optimal hearing.

1920x200-faqs

  • How frequently should I evaluate my listening environments?

There is a limit of 20 ratings. They should be distributed according to however long your trial is set up to run. For example, if your trial is scheduled for one week, you should perform three evaluations per day (on average). Please consult your audiologist for specific directions.

  • Should I wait a day (or more/less) between rating similar environments?

Optimally, you shouldn’t rate the same situation more than once each day. So, if you’re rating three per day, try to rate once per each environment (e.g., one conversation in quiet, one conversation in noise, and one sounds outdoors).

  • Can parents help children with evaluations?

This app is not targeted toward our pediatric Ponto wearers. However, it can be used by parents as a good tool for tracking how well their kids are hearing in various environments.
