Josenilson’s cochlear implant activation: “I will hear”

Josenilson Nunes Pessoa is a 34-year-old blind Brazilian man with bilateral profound sensorineural hearing loss. 

Josenilson was fitted with the Oticon Medical Saphyr® neo.

In this video, we get to see the activation of Josenilson’s Saphyr® neo CI sound processor, filmed by his audiologist.


Here we are able to witness a very emotional moment for Josenilson — when he hears his own voice and the sounds around him for the first time.

He realises: “I will hear.”
