Surgical instrumentation

A range of sterilised and non-sterile surgical tools and accessories is available for use with the Neuro Zti and Digisonic® SP implant ranges. All sterile products are sterilized using steam.

Sterile surgical accessories

Neuro Zti implant indicator

The implant indicator is used to determine the correct implant receiver position on the head without needing to handle the functioning implant. This tool should be used with the processor indicator to decide the location of the incision. The Neuro Zti implant indicator is only compatible with the Neuro Zti implant range.

Neuro Zti fixation screws

These self-tapping screws are used to attach the Neuro Zti implant receiver onto the skull to prevent any migration over time. The Neuro Zti fixation screws can only be placed in the titanium inserts of the Neuro Zti implant receiver.

Neuro Zti magnet

The magnet is designed to hold the sound processor’s antenna in place on the head of the user. It should be removed for MRI examinations of 3 Tesla.

Neuro Zti dummy magnet

The dummy magnet is used during MRI examinations (3T). Once the implant magnet has been extracted, it is placed on the implant receiver core. This prevents fibrosis forming around the implant.

Probe-array

Before inserting the electrode array, the probe-array can be used to check that there is no ossification in the cochlea.

Digisonic® SP implant indicator

The implant indicator helps to select or determine the correct implant receiver position on the head without needing to handle the functioning implant. This tool should be used with the processor indicator to determine where to make the incision. It is compatible with the Digisonic® SP implant range.

Digisonic® SP fixation screws

These self-tapping screws are used to attach the Digisonic® SP implant receiver onto the skull to prevent any migration over time. The Digisonic® SP fixation screws are placed in the titanium inserts provided on the Digisonic® SP implant receiver.

Non-sterile surgical tools

Neuro Zti screwdriver

The Neuro Zti screwdriver is used with the Neuro Zti fixation screws. It is only compatible with the Neuro Zti implant range.

Insertion fork

The insertion fork is used to facilitate the insertion of the CLASSIC electrode array into the cochlea. It can also be used to hold the electrode array while the insertion forceps tool progressively inserts the array.

Insertion forceps

The insertion forceps are used to aid the insertion of the EVO electrode array into the cochlea.

See how the insertion forceps are used.

Processor indicator

The processor indicator mimics the shape of the sound processor and is used to select or prepare the final position of the implant receiver on the skull. It ensures that the implant and the sound processor do not overlap. The tool is compatible with the Neuro Zti and Digisonic® SP implant indicators.

Neuro Zti magnet extractor

The Neuro Zti magnet extractor can be used to extract a Neuro Zti magnet or a Neuro Zti dummy magnet from the core of a Neuro Zti implant receiver.

Digisonic® SP screwdriver

The screwdriver is used with the Digisonic® SP fixation screws. It is only compatible with the Digisonic® SP range.
